Mrs. De’ Wanda Chester is the assistant principal of Middle Ridge Elementary School. Mrs. Chester has taught in elementary, middle and high school settings.
She is a product Atlanta Public Schools and Dekalb County School System. She earned her bachelor’s degree in early childhood from Bethune- Cookman College in 1994 and her master’s in adult education from Central Michigan University in 2001. She received her specialist degree in administration leadership from Lincoln Memorial University in 2004. At the age of twelve she read the autobiography of Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune’s and vowed to attend the college that was started with “$1.50 and five little girls” (Bethune-Cookman University). avorite course in college was Children’s Literature/ Reading Methods. Her most memorable college moment was attending the BCC 1990 graduation ceremony. She is most proud of her four years cheering the “Mighty Wildcats” basketball and football teams to many victories as a BCC cheerleader.
